On Day 4 my vision was still a bit blurry, but I was really looking forward to my follow up appointment where I’d get the ‘bandage contacts’ taken out. The appointment went great, healing continuing well and the contacts were indeed removed. I was thrilled, like having really dry contacts taken out.

After the appointment my eyes felt a bit gritty, but this improved over the day and into the next day. The last uncomfortable remnant of the surgery to resolve was some blurriness in my right eye. The left eye was clear on day 5 but it wasn’t until 3 days later that the right eye caught up.

The final remnant to resolve happened just yesterday. My right eye feels a bit odd if I rub it, like something is on my eye moving around. The technician warned me about this and it’s not painful, just a bit odd.

At day 18 I keep forgetting I ever wore glasses, or even had the surgery. Which is pretty awesome. My vision is better now then with glasses or contacts. Most surprising is I used to have pretty dry eyes but I’ve noticed since the surgery this has been reduced a lot.

In the end, I’m thrilled I got this done. I had a great experience, except for 1 day of, I can’t stress this enough, exceptional pain.

I’ve been out for a couple of runs and bike rides in the rain and love not having glasses that become useless with water drops or fog. I’ve also been to the movies and absolutely love seeing a movie without glasses, great field of vision.
