I’m not normally one to get excited for the new year, but this year is different. I feel a sense of excitement, curiosity and happiness with 2013 rolling in. I’ve noticed many people I’ve talked to seem to feel the same. I think it’s going to be a good one.

I don’t do resolutions, certainly I’d never start a resolution on new years. But I do like to do a little recap on the year past, think about the year to come. I also like to have a theme, a sort of focus for the year to help make decisions, spark change.

I came across this quote which really captures what I’m shooting for in 2013

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” – George Eliot

I’m also really looking forward to a year where the date doesn’t line up, like March 3 2003, or recently December 12 2012. 2013 has freed us from this bizarre giddiness of date parity.

Some of the things I’ve got in my cross-hairs for 2013
* Going to Hawaii
* Scuba diving
* Writing and sharing what I’ve written
* Getting into the world of TV/Film
* Meeting new people, making friends
* Mountain bike all over Squamish
* Be me, all day, every day
